Blinky and Me is an engaging and delightful story about a young girl named Karen and the adventures of her imagination. Every night she opens the shutters of her bedroom window, chooses a bright shining star and makes a wish.
Set in the 1950s in a very real place called Cheviot Hills, California, Karen truly believed in heart that nothing is impossible and then one day she discovered a magical land, Juveltintown!
This story is seen and experienced through the eyes of a child and builds self-love by encouraging children to look inside themselves.
Blinky and Me is a connection to the beauty in nature and the immediate surroundings of your own neighborhood. Do you know where Juveltintown is? About
Karen Blaisdell is a native Californian who studied Art, Art History and Writing at California State University, Long Beach and received her Fine Arts degree from Santa Monica College. She was a curator and long-time artistic collaborator with her husband, the artist Don Blaisdell, as well as co-owner of the Blaisdell Fine Art Gallery, in their hometown of Los Angeles.
Karen also worked in the travel industry and enjoys traveling the world, discovering new places and sometimes going on extraordinary adventures using her imagination. Karen loves to create, and dance, write, read and garden. She treasures in the wonder of nature, sitting calmly and experiencing its beauty with her family.
